The GNHWPCA was created in July, 2005 as a Regional Sewer Authority that provides sewer service to the communities of New Haven, Hamden, East Haven, and Woodbridge.

GNHWPCA sewer service area shown in a purple outline with our 50,000 customers shown as blue dots on the map. The East Shore Treatment Plant located on New Haven Harbor treats approximately 40 million gallons a day (MGD) and is the second largest wastewater treatment plant in Connecticut.

GNHWPCA has over 500 miles of sewer mains and 30 pump stations that convey the flow to the East Shore Treatment Plant.

GNHWPCA also provides treatment for a portion of North Branford sewer customers through an agreement with the town.
